TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto dissolved the Cabinet Secretariat and appointed Major Teddy Indra Wijaya as Cabinet Secretary. The release of the Cabinet Secretariat is announced in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 139 of 2024 regarding the Duties and Activities of the Ministry of State in the Red and White Cabinet for 2024-2029.
“With this Presidential Regulation, we dissolve the Cabinet Secretariat created based on Presidential Regulation No. 55 of 2020 regarding the Cabinet Secretariat,” the Presidential Order reads .
The President’s Order also states that, with the dissolution of the Cabinet Secretariat, the implementation of the duties and activities of the Cabinet Secretariat will be integrated into the ministry that carries out government affairs in the area of the state secretariat.
As stated in the Presidential Decree, the Minister of the Secretary of State in the ministry that carries out the affairs of the government in the area of the secretariat of state directs and coordinates:
a. Implementation of government affairs in the field of the secretariat of state as envisaged in Presidential Regulation No. 31 of 2O2O regarding the Secretariat of the Ministry of State;
b. Providing cabinet management support to the President and Vice President in the administration of the government carried out by the Cabinet Secretariat as envisaged in Presidential Regulation No. 55 of 2020 regarding the Cabinet Secretariat .
The Cabinet Secretary is an important position in the Indonesian government whose role is to support the duties of the president and vice president. It is the duty of the Cabinet Secretary to provide cabinet management support to the President and Vice President in administering the government.
