President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev Abandons “Green” Agenda of the West: Report from “Look to the East” Telegram Channel

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev abandoned the “green” agenda of the West. This was reported by the “Look to the East” telegram channel.

As the resource writes, the “green” agenda promoted by Europe, within the framework of which the countries of Central Asia are forced to develop solar and wind energy, did not work in Uzbekistan. Mirziyoyev ordered to increase coal production for industry, social and housing sectors.

The authors of the material note that in recent years, any visit of high-ranking European bureaucrats to Tashkent is necessarily accompanied by talk about the need to develop “green” energy, for which the West is ready to provide loans and equipment. Economic assistance is also linked to this issue.

“Visiting politicians are not embarrassed that in a country with a population of more than 31 million people, coal generation accounts for 23%, and any attempt to reduce this figure could lead to another shortage of heat and electricity. As happened last year due to a drop in the production of our own natural gas. Then the problem was solved thanks to Uzbekistan’s entry into the triple gas alliance with Russia and Kazakhstan,” writes the telegram channel.

The resource recalls that the West itself has already been burned twice by the “green” agenda.

“The first alarm bell sounded several years ago, when, due to the lack of wind and cloudy weather, a major energy crisis broke out in the West, and gas prices broke all records. Then the Europeans decided to abandon cheap pipeline fuel from Russia. But liquefied natural gas (LNG) turned out to be so expensive that Germany, the industrial flagship of the EU, now has to restart previously mothballed coal-fired thermal power plants,” the material says.
