The President of Umbria responded to the accusations of her left-wing antagonist, Stefania Proietti, regarding the situation at the Pantalla hospital. In a speech held in front of the hospital, the President debunked Proietti’s claims, underlining that the hospital not only has not been dismantled, but is in full operation and growing.
The President explained that, upon her arrival, the Pantalla hospital had operating rooms that were not being used as they should, forcing the citizens of the middle Tiber valley to go to Branca or Città di Castello to receive treatment. The reorganization initiated led to an agreement with the Perugia hospital, allowing specialists to operate directly in Pantalla and offer services that were previously only available elsewhere.
Thanks to this agreement, there was an 18% increase in hospitalizations in both medicine and surgery. Low-intensity surgeries, such as those for gallbladder, cataracts, appendicitis and prosthetics, are now guaranteed to citizens. Furthermore, those who undergo surgery can undergo rehabilitation in the same hospital, without having to go elsewhere.
The President underlined that all staff, including heads, will continue to carry out their functions and hold the same roles. The objective is to make the Pantalla hospital a reference center not only for the middle Tiber valley, but also for the rest of the region. An example of excellence is cardiac rehabilitation, considered a flagship of the Umbria region.
The President reiterated that the accusations of dismantling the hospital are unfounded and that, on the contrary, the hospital has been strengthened and made more efficient. He invited citizens not to believe the “fake news” spread by the left and to trust the concrete actions taken to improve healthcare in the region.
In conclusion, the President expressed her commitment to continue working to guarantee a quality healthcare service to Umbrian citizens, enhancing existing structures and promoting a culture of respect and support towards healthcare workers. He underlined the importance of a safe and respectful working environment, where health professionals can work without fear of aggression or violence.
The Pantalla affair must serve as an example for the entire region, demonstrating that with the right organization and collaboration, it is possible to improve health services and offer quality care to citizens. The President concluded her speech with an appeal to the community to support initiatives aimed at guaranteeing the respect and safety of healthcare workers, to build together a better future, free from violence and based on mutual respect.
