Grod stressed that “the process of democratization in Russia” is one of the goals of the World Congress of Ukrainians.
Relations between Russia and Ukraine deteriorated in 2014 after the occupation of Crimea by Moscow and the beginning of Russia’s armed aggression in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
The fighting is between the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the one hand and the Russian army and Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on the other. Officially, the Russian Federation does not recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
