For her part, Maribel Ricardo, president of the JAC of Henequén, said that the victims’ rights have allegedly been violated.
“These people have had their rights violated because four days have passed after the fire and they have not had solutions such as a lease or at least shelter in a house. Many are sleeping outdoors. The control entities have not yet contacted them,” she said.
The community leader asks that the authorities assign permanent surveillance and an ambulance to guarantee the rights of those affected by the conflagration.
“There were a lot of children here who swallowed a lot of smoke. At least the delivery of basic medicines has not been seen. 32 people were affected. Today I call on Mayor Dumek Turbay to address the situation that has arisen in the sector. “We are in a high-risk area, but we are also human beings,” Ricardo added.
He said that many of the homes in the sector have been built for 40 years.
