The president of the Republic, Lenin Moreno, held a meeting with the director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva. The appointment was at the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington, United States.

Through a Twitter message, published at 20:01 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, the President wrote: “Thank you @KGeorgieva for your kindness in visiting us at @EmbajadaEcuUSA. The support of @FMInoticias has been decisive in our fight against the pandemic and in the reactivation of the Ecuadorian economy ”.

From what was known, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and the relationship between the IMF and the Ecuador, as well as the situation in the country.

Also, Georgieva wrote a message on the social network referring to the quote: “Warm and productive meeting with @Lenin in DC today. We discussed #Ecuador’s path towards economic recovery, the way out of the health crisis and how to create more jobs and protect the most vulnerable. The Fund is firmly committed to helping #Ecuador achieve strong, lasting and inclusive growth.

Earlier, the Ecuadorian President held a meeting with Axel van Trotsenburg, director of operations of the world Bank.

While on Monday, January 25, he spoke with the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Mauricio Claver-Carone.
