Jakarta –
President Jokowi paid a working visit to Indonesia’s first and largest electric car battery factory, the largest in Southeast Asia. Factory owned by PT Hyundai LG Industry (HLI) Green Power It is located in Karawang Regency, West Java. President Jokowi hopes that the presence of this factory can build an ecosystem and supply chain for electric vehicles in Indonesia.
Later, the government will collaborate with Hyundai in making Indonesia a hub or leading electric vehicle production center in Southeast Asia and will start production of 30 million batteries at the beginning of the year.
“Yes, PT HLI Green Power, starting at the beginning of the year, will have produced 30 million battery cells which will be able to be used to produce approximately 180 thousand cars, that is the largest in Southeast Asia. The first in Southeast Asia and the largest in Southeast Asia at the moment ,” said Jokowi on the Presidential Secretariat website, Thursday (14/9).
According to President Jokowi, the presence of this factory is part of the development of a large ecosystem for electric vehicles or electric vehicle (EV) which is currently being promoted by the government. President Jokowi is optimistic that Indonesia can become a major player in the global electric vehicle supply chain.
“We can enter the global supply chain, where other countries will depend on our battery cells, other countries will depend on us EV “Our batteries are there,” added Jokowi.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, who accompanied the President, said that he has now started carrying out production trials since the launch of development (groundbreaking) exactly two years ago.
“Thank God, two years ago – to be precise today – we did it groundbreaking towards building car batteries, battery cells, and two years later this was ready. Now the product is there, now there is a trail and error, “Maybe it will be in production in March next year,” said Bahlil.
Bahlil said that of the five factories owned by LG in the world, this factory in Indonesia uses the latest technology from LG in its production.
Furthermore, Bahlil also explained that President Jokowi’s visit was carried out to inspect the second phase of the factory’s production expansion of 20 GWh. If the factory is built, said Bahlil, its production capacity will be 30 GWh.
“So later LG will build 30 Giga, and this is an investment commitment that we have been talking about for a long time, we often talk about car battery production, and thank God now it has appeared,” he said.
The construction of this factory, he continued, is part of the industrial downstreaming that President Jokowi always conveys.
“This is the President’s dream, which is always directed at us, his ministers, to build downstreaming. So what the President has said so far, it’s not just talk, but this is real evidence and this is really using high technology. And “Later, we will operate Indonesian children because more than 100 of them have been sent to Korea for them to study there,” he explained.
It is known that Hyundai will invest USD 3 billion by next year to build an ecosystem of battery cell factories, battery system factories, assembly facilities and various other efforts to produce electric vehicles.
Hyundai hopes to accelerate Indonesia’s transition towards sustainable mobility that is more environmentally friendly, both through increasing industrial capabilities, developing innovation and technology, as well as developing talent and creating jobs in Indonesia.
On the other hand, morning seconds Friday’s edition (15/09/2023) will also discuss the viral video of two bodies claimed to resemble aliens which were presented at an extraordinary session in the Mexican Parliament on Tuesday (12/9).
The mummified remains of those said to be extraterrestrial or alien creatures were displayed in two small display cases in front of the courtroom, where the trial specifically discussed the possibility of life in outer space.
It is known that these two bodies were brought by Jaime Maussan, a journalist and expert ufology from Mexico who reported their findings in Peru in 2017. Maussan estimates these creatures to be between 700 and 1,800 years old.
Not only that, these specimens have been studied by researchers at the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM). The examination was carried out by taking DNA evidence from the corpse using radiocarbon. The researchers then compared the results of the DNA taken with other DNA samples. As a result, researchers found that more than 30 percent of the specimen’s DNA was “unknown.”
However, until now, there is no evidence to confirm that Maussan’s discovery of an “alien mummy” in Peru was a genuine corpse of an alien creature. Apart from that, no other researchers have supported this finding.
