Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) elites met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, tonight. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees PSI Grace Natalie revealed that during the meeting, Jokowi left a message so that PSI would not rush to choose a presidential candidate that was supported.
“So today we are updating the current situation of Kopdarnas, the last time PSI did we also updated Pak Jokowi and earlier when talking about the election, Pak Jokowi’s message was still the same as ojo kesusu,” Grace said after meeting Jokowi at the Presidential Palace complex, Central Jakarta, Monday (4 /9/2023).
According to Grace, Jokowi said that there would still be a lot of maneuvers ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Therefore, Jokowi asked PSI not to rush into giving direction to support.
“There are still many in the world of martial arts, there are definitely many maneuvers that will occur, there will still be many soap opera dramas that will occur. So let’s just observe ojo kesusu first,” he said.
Jokowi, continued Grace, asked PSI to be neutral first. PSI, he said, was asked to monitor until the political situation became clearer.
“PSI used to be neutral until the situation became clearer, so yes, we will observe that. That’s for the presidential candidates,” said Grace.
Grace added that tonight’s meeting with Jokowi is a routine agenda. PSI, he said, often reports to Jokowi.
“So this is our routine meeting with Mr. President. The name is routine, so we do from time to time report updates on the latest situation with Mr. Jokowi. Often it may not always be seen by media friends but today because everyone is still on standby so it can happen. I can see it with friends, but this is a routine meeting, so that means nothing really extraordinary,” he said.
Apart from Grace, also present at the meeting were the Chairman of the PSI Advisory Board Jeffrie Geovanie, and the Secretary of the PSI Advisory Board Raja Juli Antoni who also served as Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR).
