Prestige Aviation Executive Chairman Rudy Salim explained that he had invited Jokowi to experience firsthand the sensation of the EHang 216 flying taxi. Unfortunately Rudy has not explained in detail when the flying demonstration with Jokowi will take place.
“I invited him to try a demo flight and he seemed enthusiastic,” said Rudy when confirmed by detikOto, Saturday (30/3/2023).
The EHang 216 flying taxi will also reportedly be tested in the IKN (Archipelagic Capital) area. For your information, the EHang was previously flight tested at the B3 JIEXpo Kemayorang Parking Field on July 31 2022.
The EHang 216 flew smoothly for 15 to 30 minutes for each session. Previously, the EHang 216 flying taxi brought by Prestige Aviation had previously flown vertically in the outdoor area of JIEXpo Kemayoran. However, at that time there were no passengers on board. At that time the flying taxi was also not moving, i.e. static in the air.
“It will still be discussed, because we have to follow existing rules and regulations,” explained Rudy regarding the possibility of EHang being tested at IKN.
Quoting a statement from the founder of EHang Holdings Limited, Huazhi Hu, on the official EHang website, he claimed that the EHang flying taxi had been tested in dozens of cities in 8 countries. Several countries that have tested this flying taxi include China, the US, South Korea, Austria, the Netherlands, Qatar and the UAE (United Arab Emirates). In its home country, China, EHang flying taxis are officially used for tourist transportation.
Unmanned, the EHang 216 is controlled via a command center with intelligent controls. Using a set of intuitive systems, the EHang 216 provides five core functions namely: monitoring, flight travel, control, early warning and cluster management.
By using electric power, the EHang 216 is environmentally friendly and can reduce environmental damage caused by emissions. Charging can use a 220V or 380V power source in 1 hour of charging at the fastest rate. EHang is known to be able to accommodate a maximum load of 220 kg. The maximum speed can be reached 130 km/hour.
