President Jokowi to Promote Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to Honorary General at TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to give the rank of honorary general to Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

The embedding event will be held during the TNI-Polri leadership meeting (rapim) at TNI Headquarters (Mabes), Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Wednesday (28/2/2024).

“Yes, that’s right, promoted to the rank of honorary general,” said Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General R Nugraha Gumilar to Kompas.com, Tuesday (27/2/2024).

It is known that Prabowo’s last rank was Lieutenant General (Ret.) or three stars.

Thus, the former Commander General of Kopassus and Commander of Kostrad will receive four stars.

The Head of the TNI Penuspen said that President Jokowi directly plans to give Prabowo the rank of general tomorrow.

The TNI-Polri meeting will start at around 09.00 WIB.
