President Jokowi Surprises Visitors in Malioboro at Night

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) walked around the area Malioboro, Special Region of Yogyakarta at night. With a green long-sleeved shirt, Jokowi surprised visitors to the tourist area.

In a statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Jokowi visited Malioboro on Saturday (3/6/202) evening. Jokowi’s presence surprised the people who were visiting the Malioboro area. They also took advantage of the moment to take pictures with the President.

One of them is Anifa, a resident of Surabaya. He didn’t expect to meet President Jokowi in person in Malioboro. Anifa admitted that he had wanted to meet the head of state for a long time.

“I was on vacation with my husband and went on a trip to Malioboro to meet Pak Jokowi. Oh, God, I’m very happy. I’ve always wanted to meet Pak Jokowi. It’s been a fortune to meet Pak Jokowi,” said Anifa, as quoted by the Presidential Secretariat, Saturday (3/6) /2023).

Similar to Feri, a resident of Bekasi, also recently had the opportunity to meet Jokowi. After meeting in person, Feri assessed President Jokowi as a simple and humble person.

“It’s really nice to meet you. In Jakarta, most of the time it’s just a convoy, right here you can meet in person, take photos together, take photos together, wow, that’s really cool,” said Ferry.

“Very humble, really very humble. He is humanist, humble, not adventurous. His simplicity is very visible,” he continued.

In addition, Evi from Sleman Regency was happy to meet the President. In fact, his daughter admitted that she screamed with enthusiasm to get this opportunity.

“I screamed loudly until my voice was hoarse. I’m happy, I can say goodbye. Take a photo and shake hands, kiss hands. Be healthy, Mr. Jokowi, I hope we can meet again,” said Evi and her daughter.

After walking around, greeting and taking selfies with the public, as well as providing assistance to traders in the Malioboro area, President Jokowi returned to the Agung Building of the Yogyakarta Presidential Palace, to continue activities the next day.
