“President Jokowi Snacks on Egg Rolls at Ngarsopuro Night Market in Solo City, Central Java” – New Year’s Eve Celebration 2024

SOLO, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) snacks on egg rolls at “Ngarsopuro Night Market”, Solo City, Central Java (Central Java).

According to Komapas.com, President Jokowi greeted residents and traders when visiting the car free night (CFN), Sunday (31/12/2023).

The Head of State had a chance to chat with MSME traders in the Bengawan City Night Tourist Area.

The former Mayor of Solo was seen buying rolled eggs, gejrot tofu and other snacks.

“Earlier I bought two cups of egg rolls for IDR 15,000, the total was IDR 30,000. I was given IDR 150,000,” said egg roll seller, Dimas Pranoto.

Apart from greeting residents, the President was also seen distributing black T-shirts with his face printed on them.

“You get one t-shirt and a book for the children, four books for two children,” said Rini Dwi Wulandari.

Residents cheered for President Jokowi for almost an hour. The Head of State walked from the Gatot Subroto Corridor to Ngarsopuro.

“Thank God, I was able to meet him face to face. Very happy, I didn’t have time to take selfies, just videos,” he said.

Throughout the Ngarsopuro area, Car Free Night (CFN) was also held to add to the excitement of the 2024 New Year celebrations in Solo City, Central Java.

The CFN event started at 21.00 WIB until January 1 2024 at 01.00 WIB, which was enlivened by various public entertainment on 11 entertainment stages.

The entertainment stages are spread from the Purwosari area to the front of City Hall or the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman area. This celebration also includes a fireworks display in the Solo City Hall courtyard.
