Jakarta, tvOnenews.com – The Indonesian national football team was forced to admit the superiority of the Iraqi national team with a score of 1-3 in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup which was held in Qatar, Monday (15/1/2024).
Responding to this, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that winning or losing is a normal thing in football, most importantly the Indonesian national team performed well against Iraq.
“I saw yesterday that he played very well, but yes, the ball is round, sometimes you win, you can also lose. That’s normal in football,” he told reporters on the sidelines of his activities in the Indonesian capital, Wednesday (17/1/2024) .
He praised the Indonesian national team’s game, which consists of many young players, so it is good for the medium to long term.
“What we are happy about yesterday’s team is that the average age is the youngest in Indonesia because it is under 24 years. I think this is very good in the medium and long term,” said President Jokowi.
Previously, in the match against Iraq at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan, Qatar, Monday night, the Indonesian national team had to admit their opponent’s superiority with a score of 1-3.
