Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is seen in the front row parallel to the Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as the President of China Xi Jinping during a group photo at the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) forum.
According to Chinese state media reports, Xinhuathe photo was taken at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, on Tuesday (17/10).
In the photo, Jokowi is seen standing in the front row. To Jokowi’s left are Putin and Xi Jinping, the hosts.
Apart from Jokowi, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and several other country leaders also posed in the front row.
In another photo, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan are in the front row flanked by Jokowi and Putin.
Jokowi and his wife appear to Xi’s right. The Indonesian President wore a dark colored shirt and complemented by a red tie. Meanwhile, Iriana wore a white kebaya and brownish cloth. He was also seen carrying a black bag.
Next to Jokowi were the chairman of the Turkmenistan People’s Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and his wife. On the far right of the front row is Chilean President Gabriel Boric.
Then on Xi’s left, Putin appears. He wore a black shirt and purplish tie.
The BRI Forum took place on October 17-18 in Beijing, China. This event was attended by representatives from 130 countries.
On the sidelines of the event, Jokowi also met Xi Jinping. Jokowi believes that relations between Indonesia and China will be strong, so the two countries need to take advantage of the moment to increase cooperation.
“We must use this good momentum to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and increase concrete collaboration and cooperation for the region and the world,” said Jokowi.
At this meeting, Indonesia and China signed a number of memoranda of understanding or memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Indonesia and China.
From the results of the meeting, 10 MoUs were signed, covering agreements in the economic sector as well as in the development sector.
