President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had temporarily stopped his speech at the inauguration of the DPP Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI) and the GAMKI National Working Meeting in Medan. Jokowi stop the speech when the call to prayer resounds.
Initially, Jokowi spoke about the political situation that was starting to warm up ahead of the 2024 Election. After that, Jokowi spoke about the importance of a solid atmosphere to face various global challenges.
Jokowi also talked about Indonesia’s chances of becoming a developed country. Jokowi said the opportunity existed in the next 13 years.
“So that future leaders will very, very much determine whether this country can jump forward or not,” said Jokowi in Medan, Saturday (19/8/2023).
The Azan Asr is then heard. Jokowi was seen stopping his speech for a moment and reading the text he was holding.
Jokowi then continued his speech when the call to prayer finished resounding. Jokowi said leadership in the next 13 years would be crucial.
“That is, the national leadership in 2024, the national leadership in 2029, the national leadership in 2034 will be very decisive once this country is caught in a middle income trap, a middle income threat, or it can become a developed country,” Jokowi said.
