NasDem Vice President Ahmad Ali agrees with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) about cities that have a characteristic color with the mayor’s political party. The NasDem Party said one of them occurred in Morowali.
“In fact, we are highlighting that there are several Plt who changed their office paint to a certain party (colour). For example, Morowali from its normal color to red,” said Ali when contacted, Friday (15/12/2023).
Ali said that the color of the city government buildings being colored the same as the colors of the political parties was a sign of partisanship. According to him, Jokowi’s sarcasm should be of concern.
“This is very visible partiality if it’s like that, right? I think what Pak Jokowi said should be of concern to this Acting Officer,” he said.
Ali said that so far Jokowi has been accused of favoring regional heads. According to Ali, it would not be beautiful if the colors of regional government buildings were colored with the colors of political parties because the funds used are people’s money.
“Because all this time Mr. Jokowi has been the accused person, it seems as if all of these Plts belong to Mr. Jokowi. Even though his party is not like that. I took an example like Morowali earlier. The Plt then painted everything red and even the traditional clothes were changed to red. “It’s not good, everything uses the people’s budget, right,” he added.
Previously, Jokowi quipped about cities whose characteristic city colors are the same as the mayor’s party colors. Jokowi said the city’s colors were often forced to be the same as the incumbent mayor’s party. Initially, Jokowi emphasized regional heads to bring out the characteristics of each city. This must be planned with a good design.

Jokowi said that party colors that are imposed on a city often do not match. However, he said, this still happened because the city leader came from a certain party.
“When the party colors entered the city, this was not connected, but was forced, because the leader was from a party, I won’t say what party, from party A, wow, the paint was immediately purple,” explained Jokowi.
