President Jokowi Appoints Budi Arie Setiadi as Ad Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially appointed Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi as Ad Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu).

The appointment was made through letter number B-69/M/D-3/AN.00.03/01/2024 which was signed by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, dated January 19 2024. The letter was addressed directly to Budi Arie Setiadi.

“With regard to the letter of the Minister of Foreign Affairs number 017/BK/01/2024/01 dated January 17 2024, which was addressed to the President, regarding the Application for an Official Travel Permit to New York, United States,” wrote the letter.

“We respectfully inform you that the President is pleased to appoint the Minister of Communication and Information as Ad Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs while the Minister of Foreign Affairs is on an official trip abroad on January 21-22 2024.”

The appointment was made in line with Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi’s official trip to New York, United States on January 21-22 2024.
