President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin attended the angklung performance at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK). During the performance, Jokowi and his wife, Iriana Jokowi, looked engrossed in dancing.
This moment occurred when Jokowi listened to the song Rungkad performed by Salma Salsabil at GBK, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (5/8/2023). Jokowi and Iriani were seen dancing when the song was performed lively.
Not only that, Jokowi also listened to a number of songs performed by Kahitna. Jokowi was greeted several times by Hedi Yunus and Mario Ganjar who are vocalists of Kahitna.
Jokowi was seen clapping his hands following the directions from the vocalists. Jokowi and Iriana smiled happily. They enjoyed Kahitna’s performance by singing along.
Jokowi’s expression was highlighted by the camera when Kahitna sang a song titled ‘The Most Beautiful Former’. Jokowi and Iriana smiled at each other. The participants were enthusiastic to see Jokowi and Iriana.
Jokowi also greeted Kahitna on stage. After that, Kahitna continued her performance.
To note, this angklung performance is a series of events to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy held the biggest angklung show in the world involving more than 15,000 angklung players.
