President Joko Widodo Visits Fairmont Hotel After Prabowo-Gibran Grand Campaign

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) left the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, which was the gathering place for the presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate (capres-cawapres) number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming, Saturday (10/2/2024) evening.

Based on monitoring by Kompas.com, Jokowi left the hotel 40 minutes after his arrival.

However, the former Mayor of Solo was sparing when asked by journalists about his reasons for visiting this place with his grandchildren.

“Yes, all day I carry grandchildren, at night I deliver them to those who have children,” Jokowi told reporters, Saturday.

Asked whether there was any discussion regarding the campaign, including the political situation three days before the 2024 general election (Pemilu), Jokowi smiled and raised both hands.

It is known that the Fairmont Hotel is located directly opposite the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SU GBK), the location of Prabowo-Gibran’s grand campaign from this afternoon to evening.

Previously, Jokowi arrived at 20.26 WIB. He used a black Toyota Vellfire with a plate number which is used by public officials.

Then, Jokowi was seen wearing a black T-shirt, accompanied by the presidential security guard (Paspampres).

He was seen getting out of the car with his grandchildren who are Gibran’s children, Jan Ethes Srinarendra and La Lembah Manah.

Next, Gibran arrived not long after, around 15 minutes, with his wife, Selvi Ananda.

They were then seen going up using the hotel elevator.

Based on Kompas.com’s monitoring since Saturday evening, dozens of people dressed in sky blue with Prabowo-Gibran written on them were at the hotel, both in the hotel lobby and on the 3rd floor.

The cars of a number of Advanced Indonesia Coalition elites, such as the yellow jeep often driven by the Secretary General of the Golkar Party, Lodewijk Paulus, were also parked right in front of the lobby.

Also at this hotel, at 19.00 WIB, the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) held a press conference clarifying Prabowo’s alleged corruption regarding the purchase of a Mirage 2000-5 fighter jet from Qatar.
