This Wednesday, the president will deliver his second presidency speech before the plenary session of the United Nations General Assembly.

As White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan explained on Tuesday, Biden will denounce Russia’s “unjustified” war in Ukraine and call on all countries of the world, especially its allies, to maintain their support for Ukraine. despite the food crisis and fuel supply problems caused by the conflict.

Likewise, Biden will announce more funds against the food crisis to help developing countries, which have asked for more support from the United Nations to avoid a possible catastrophe.

The US president will also hold two bilateral meetings: one with the UN secretary general, António Guterres, and another with the British prime minister, Liz Truss, in what will be the first meeting between the two.

Biden will also address a meeting of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (FMAIDS) and announce “historic commitments” in monetary terms to combat these diseases, Sullivan said.

In the evening, in a more relaxed atmosphere, the president of the United States and the first lady, Jill Biden, will host a reception at the Natural History Museum where they will meet all the leaders participating in the great week of the United Nations.

Biden will attend another Democratic National Committee event on Thursday and will return to Washington that day.
