President Javier Miley confirmed that the Government will not apply the dengue vaccine and argued that by the time the second dose is due “the mosquitoes will have disappeared”.
The national leader spoke about the problem that Argentina is going through with dengue during a presentation to students of the University of Florida, in Miami. There he launched harsh criticism of the senator and head of the UCR, Martin Lousteauwho had questioned the Government about the lack of repellents in the midst of the dengue crisis.
“I have received very clumsy criticism from a senator, who is also an economist. He was complaining because the repellents were going up. There is a mosquito epidemic, a lot of mosquitoes because there was no campaign the previous year, yes, of course, there are mosquitoes. The next year there is a mosquito epidemic, the famous dengue,” Milei explained.
And he continued: “This clumsy, mediocre and lousy economistTo be polite, he said it was because of the President, because ‘we have a market failure here.’ Since the State has more information, it has to resolve it.’ A truly phenomenal set of stupidities.”

“The first thing to understand is that there is an element that causes demand to skyrocket, it is normal for the price to skyrocket. How is an economist going to complain that if demand increases, the price increases. The boy is weak in economics,” said the President.
In that sense, he indicated that “the problem was in the previous government’s restrictions” on importing repellents: “We opened imports and the private sector solved it alone.”
“This boy defended the sale of vaccines. Now for the vaccines to be effective they have to give the second dose, but You have to wait three months and by then the mosquitoes will have disappeared“he stressed about dengue vaccines.
Also, he noted that the vaccines “are just being tested in humans to see that they do not have side effects, but laboratories have interests“.
“Perhaps this boy will have some interest in making this happen as a business. And it is also clear that many journalists do have interests,” Milei added.
