The President of Kabylia, Ferhat Mehenni, paid a visit to Canada, where he received a welcome worthy of a head of state, the first step in his journey to meet other counterparts on the continent.

In a speech delivered on this occasion, the president of the MAK insisted on the necessary unity of all Kabyles: “We cannot remain indifferent to the kidnappings and arbitrary incarcerations of worthy children of Kabylia by the Algerian colonial regime, also in the face of the climate of war imposed by the bellicose Algerian power on the Kabyles at home, in Kabylia”.
President Mehenni was received in parliament, where he made a brief presentation of the Kabyle country and gave a historical overview of the cultural and identity struggle that the Kabyles have been waging since 1962, when the border army seized power in Algeria. , a country created by the former colonial power, before annexing Kabylie to it in 1871.
The Kabyle president spoke to the members of the foreign affairs caucus “of the multiple crimes perpetrated by the Algerian criminal regime, against Kabylia and the Kabyle people since 1962 to date”.
In addition, the Kabyle and Amazigh Women’s Network organized, on Saturday June 18, the sixth edition of Kabyle Dress Day in Montreal. This 6th edition was dedicated to the Kabyle activist and co-president of the Amazigh World Congress (CMA), Kamira Nait Sid, unjustly detained in the Algerian prison of Koléa without trial for more than nine months. Activist Kamira Nait Sid was kidnapped in August 2021, in Tizi Ouzou, by the Algerian secret services on the instructions of the head of the junta, General Saïd Chanegriha.
The tour of the Kabyle independence leader in this North American country and subsequently in others in America, is all the more important as the question of the self-determination of Kabylie enjoys strong support there. , which fuels the Kabyles’ determination to wrest their country’s independence from the brutality of the junta led by General Saïd Chengriha and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
There is no doubt that the determination of the Kabyle people will pay off. It is only a matter of time and the independence of Kabylia will be officially on the UN agenda.
On the other hand, steps are underway for the accession of the new state of Kabylia to the African Union (AU).
