President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised the initiative of Kenyan President William Ruto for his leadership of the African Heads of State and Government Committee on Climate Change, wishing him success when hosting his country next September.
President El-Sisi said during his speech on the item on climate change and the blue economy at the Kenya summit today: “I also extend my congratulations to my brother, President Ghazali Osmani, President of the Republic of the Comoros, on the Great Blue Wall initiative, as a pioneering initiative to benefit from the wealth of the blue economy and adapt to climate change, in a way that contributes to Promote development, especially in coastal areas.
President El-Sisi stressed that this summit comes at a time when the world is witnessing unremitting efforts to deal with the current and expected effects of the multiple crises, with their impact on the ability of developing countries, especially African ones, to achieve development for our societies, as well as to preserve the growth that has been achieved.
He continued: “In addition to the state of uncertainty about the ability of the international community, with its financing institutions, to provide the international environment to implement the transformation of the green economy, taking into account the intertwined crises we are witnessing between the Ukrainian crisis, the energy crisis, then the food and fertilizer crisis, and this coincided with a tangible increase in climatic disasters.
