It has already been reported that the XXVII General Latvian Song and XVII Dance Festival will take place in Riga from today to July 9, the Latvian National Culture Center (LNKC) informed LETA agency.
It is planned that 60 events will take place in 20 venues during the Song and Dance Festival. 40,000 participants will take part in the celebration, while at least 500,000 interested people could visit the celebration.
Among the 60 events that will take place over the course of ten days, there is also the final of the choir competition “Choir Wars”, which is popular with the audience, which will take place on July 1 at 10 a.m. both in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia and in the Latvian Society of Riga.
It is planned that on July 2 at 6 p.m. the parade of participants of the Song and Dance Festival “Novadu dižošanas” will take place, while on July 5 at 8:30 p.m. the dress rehearsal of the choral concert “Tīrums. Dziesmas cijes” will take place on the Mežaparka Grand Stage.
At the Daugava Stadium on July 6 at 10 p.m., the dress rehearsal of the dance performance “Eternal Engine” will take place. On the same day, at 8:30 p.m., the big choir concert “Tīrums. Dziesmas cejs” will be held in Mežaparka’s Great Stage.
On July 7, at 12 and 10 p.m., the big dance performance “Mūžīgas jinējs” will be held at the Daugava Stadium, while on July 8 at 8 p.m., the dress rehearsal of the final concert “Together Up” will be held at the Mežaparka Grand Stage. At 10 p.m., a big dance performance “The Eternal Engine” will take place at the Daugava Stadium.
The song and dance festival will end on July 9, when the “Together Up” concert will take place at 8 p.m. in Mežapark’s Great Stage, which will be followed by the Night of Singing at 10 p.m.
