President Duda will appear in court over his words about Agnieszka Holland’s film

The case concerns the president’s words spoken on September 20, 2023 on TVP Info. Andrzej Duda was on the “Guest News” program that day. He said that is not surprised that the Border Guard uses the expression “Only pigs sit in the cinema” in relation to people who went to cinemas to see Agnieszka Holland’s film “The Green Border”.

“I am sorry that such a film is being made, which – as I heard, because I have not seen the film – definitely denigrates Polish officers. I even read an opinion that shows them as almost sadists. These are people who perform their duties, who guard the border of the Republic of Poland and the security of Poles, but they also guard the border of the EU and the Schengen zone, and therefore fulfill our international obligations. They protect it against a hybrid action carried out by the authorities of a foreign country that is hostile to Poland and certainly acts in agreement with the Kremlin,” Andrzej Duda said in this program.
