The Garuda Indonesia rescue mission was colored by heated debate at the DPR table. The heated debate was carried out by Member of Commission VI DPR RI Nusron Wahid and President Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra during the hearing yesterday. Also present were the Chairman of Commission VI and the Board of Directors of Garuda.
At that time, Nusron asked the directors to be ready to die if Garuda Indonesia had to die or go bankrupt. Asked for a response, Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra did not know exactly what Nusron’s statement meant.
“What was written and implied during yesterday’s meeting, yes, that’s how it is. That’s a statement from him, please ask him. I can’t say I don’t want to die, I want to die, right. It’s a statement from him and maybe it needs to be checked what does he mean, please go ahead,” said Irfan to detikcom, today, Tuesday (22/6/2021).
Furthermore, in the discussion meeting regarding the rescue of Garuda, according to Irfan, he acted as a representative of the institution and brought the good and bad of the institution.
“And I actually only see it as positive. From all these series of questions, it shows that the members of commission VI really love Garuda and really hope that Garuda can get through this and this member of commission VI actually conveys what support they need to make it happen.” rescue Garuda,” he said.
He continued, various harsh expressions during the heated debate were interpreted as a representation of Nusron to support Garuda. In addition, he also requested that members of the DPR support any decision that Garuda will take in its rescue mission.
“But it was quite good and interesting because yesterday there was a dialogue and I actually saw it as positive. When I expressed my wish for us to be supported by flying with Garuda, it immediately became one of the decisions of the meeting. I consider the comments, although some are cynical, some are harsh, I consider it a representation of their desire to support Garuda in order to get through this situation,” he added.
