President Director Opens Up About PT Angkasa Pura I In Debt of IDR 32.7 Trillion

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Director PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Faik Fahmi has opened up about the debts that are wrapped around the company he leads.

He explained that the company has debt to creditors and investors reach Rp 28 trillion as of November 2021. On the other hand, the company has other obligations to employees and supplier around IDR 4.7 trillion.

“So our total liabilities are around Rp. 32.7 trillion. However, our obligations to creditors and investors are around Rp. 28 trillion as of November 2021,” Faik said at a press conference, Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

The company’s large debt, said Faik, was due to the construction of ten airports which were carried out before the Covid-19 pandemic. The airport construction is needed to overcome the problem of lack of airport capacity operated by the company.

“The number of passengers served at AP I airport is higher than the available capacity,” he said.

As of 2017, for example, the airport capacity managed by the company is only sufficient to accommodate 71 million passengers per year. In fact, the realization of passengers can reach 90 million people per year.
