President Dina Boluarte arrived in Trujillo with help for those affected by heavy rains – News from Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru

Donations consist of motor pumps, cisterns, tents and food for victims.

The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, arrived in La Libertad, together with other members of the Executive Power, in order to deliver aid to those affected by the heavy rains that fell in that jurisdiction, and highlighted the delivery of bonds for that sector of the population.

After her arrival in the city of Trujillo, the president pointed out that, to the aid delivered today to this region, the arrival of cisterns will be added tomorrow to remove the water accumulated by the fall of the rains, as well as more food.

He stressed that the journey he has undertaken today has allowed him to reach all the affected regions. He indicated that Lambayeque is where he has seen the greatest impact from the fluvial rainfall; especially in the most vulnerable people.

Dina Boluarte affirmed that her government will seek to find a solution to the situation to definitively prevent and avoid flooding, and considered that with the contribution of experts from each ministry, this objective could be achieved.

Measures for victims

In another moment of his speech, he pointed out that two helicopters will be assigned to each affected region to evacuate the victims. Likewise, housing modules will be given for them to spend the night, and then, possibly, arrange for them to be transferred to another place.

The president also highlighted the granting of a bonus of 500 soles for the victims who have lost their homes, as well as one that will be delivered to the affected farmers.

For his part, the head of the National Civil Defense Institute, Carlos Yañez, explained that today 5 motorized pumps, mattresses and 200 tents have been delivered to La Libertad.

In turn, the regional governor of La Libertad, César Acuña, thanked the delivery of aid and the interest of the national government to alleviate the situation that has been occurring. “Difficult times bring us together,” he said.
