The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, will give statements on June 27 to the Oversight Commission, which has decided to launch an investigation into the meetings that took place in a house located in Passage Sarratea, in Breña.
According to the president’s lawyer, Benji Espinoza, the meeting will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. and will take place at the Government Palace, so the session is expected to be public.
“The Audit Commission will go to the palace tomorrow. What is yet to be determined is the nature of that session. We must be clear, it is not that the Audit Commission can define all the aspects when it comes to the testimonies of high officials,” he said. Espinoza in statements to RPP.
The lawyer clarified that the visit to the Government Palace is not “at the whim” of the president, but “in strict compliance with the law.”
Likewise, he assured that the head of state will answer the questions of the parliamentary commission of his own free will and as a way of demonstrating the intention to collaborate with justice.

“The president has said: ‘I am going voluntarily for the sake of respect for reciprocal collaboration between the powers of the State. I am going to offer my statement,'” he said.
