President Čaputová called on Slovaks to be united

According to the head of state, the current challenging period requires common sense, discipline and consideration. “We have had a difficult year, but also a year in which we have already learned a little about living in new conditions and adapting to change,” said Čaputová.

The president picked up people who in a pandemic were able to overcome themselves, cope with critical circumstances, offer extraordinary commitment, or even sacrifice their health and lives to save others.

“I would like to thank all those who have not lost their humanity, who have shown solidarity and who have not lost the hope that it makes sense to try to reunite our Slovakia,” she emphasized.

Čaputová asked the Slovaks to follow their heart and conscience. “It simply came to our notice then. Let’s go back to the verified truths. For example, let’s not do to others what we don’t want others to do to us, “said the president. “On the threshold of the new year 2022, I wish you from the bottom of our hearts not to lose faith in humanity and kindness,” Čaputová added.

Heger: We don’t steal

Prime Minister Eduard Heger (Ordinary People and Independents of OLaNO) said on the social network that Slovakia needs more foresight, less emotion and distorted information. At the same time, he acknowledged that the times were unprecedented and psychologically demanding.

“I am far from saying that we are an ideal government. But I say in all seriousness that we are the best government of the political forces on the scene today. We don’t steal, we don’t argue about prey. We work for people, “said Heger.
