Spokesman for the US National Security Council, John Kirby, says that there will be more American releases, and that the first ones will mainly consist of food.

– We have discussed the releases with Israel, who are positive about the plans, says Kirby.

Biden spoke with the Italian Prime Minister, who was visiting the White House on Friday.

– Humanitarian aid is a main priority, she says.

Both France and Great Britain have previously released emergency aid over Gaza in cooperation with Jordan’s air force.

The latest drop took place on Wednesday last week when Jordan dropped four tonnes of medicine, food and fuel. The aid was financed by Great Britain.
