This Thursday, President Gabriel Boric, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Rancagua, Emerson Avendaño Llanca; the Regional Governor, Pablo Silva; the Minister of Social Development, Javiera Toro; the Executive Vice President of Teletón Foundation, Ademir Domić; They led the ceremony to lay the first stone of the first Telethon center in the O’Higgins region, which is being built in the city of Rancagua.
On the occasion, President Gabriel Boric, valued that “here the State is present, through the Regional Government, the municipalities, the work done by different institutions and the State in collaboration with the private sector (…) we are all united by one same cause, which are boys and girls with special abilities, with different abilities. Through works like this, lives can be changed for the better, this objective is what we are dedicated to as a government.”
Likewise, the Alternate Mayor of the Municipality of Rancagua, Emerson Avendaño, highlighted that “we are super happy because this Telethon Center in Rancagua is a transcendental point for the inclusion of our entire community. In the not too distant future, the Rancagüinos and Rancagüinas will not have to travel to Santiago or the Maule region, but will be here in Rancagua, on municipal land and with regional funds to be able to include our entire society.”
Also present at the ceremony were Presidential Delegate Fabio López, deputies Marcela Riquelme, Natalia Romero, Carla Morales and deputy Raúl Soto; as well as the councilors Valentina Cáceres, Manuel Villagra, Patricio Henríquez, María del Carmen Orueta and Hugo Guzmán, as well as regional councilors Germán Arenas, Paula Muñoz, Liva Rojas, Cristina Marchant, Natalia Tobar, Jacqueline Jorquera, Jorge Vargas and Lenin Arroyo.
For his part, Regional Governor Pablo Silva Amaya, indicated that “we are very proud and excited about what we are experiencing today, the first stone of the Telethon Center in the O’Higgins region (…) is the most important work in the region in the last decade. Not because of the amounts, but because of what it means for the boys and girls, which is why I want to thank the work of the Regional Council that approved these resources.”
Also present on the occasion was the national medical director of Teletón, Bruno Camaggi, who mentioned that “thanks to this support we are building a building of more than four thousand square meters that will allow us to deliver rehabilitation services of the best standard with the commitment that We have always done it in Teletón and in an unbeatable location, for which we also have to thank the Municipality of Rancagua.”
To make this dream come true, the Municipality of Rancagua provided the land on which the Rancagua Teletón Center will be built, an area of 6,102.18 m2 in total, located in the Communal Park, the best possible place for connectivity and access. to Rancagua from other communes.
For this, the Regional Council allocated more than 12 billion pesos for the construction, after the initiative was prioritized by the Regional Governor Pablo Silva after the tender carried out by the Architecture Directorate of the Ministry of Public Works.
