Another senior US presidential administration official told the publication that Biden was looking forward to meeting with Xi, but “nothing has been confirmed yet.”
White House officials say these plans will be strengthened when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrives in Washington in the coming weeks.
If the meeting takes place, it will be the first between the leaders of the world’s two largest economies since they met on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Indonesia in November 2022.
