President announces amendments to law to punish use of mouth and nose shields – Society and Politics – News

The President has also announced amendments to the Law “On the Protection of the Body of a Dead Person and the Use of Human Tissues and Organs in Medicine”. The amendments provide for an extension of one year for the introduction of the e-health function, which will allow a person to express his or her will to use his or her body and organs after death in this system.

This feature in the e-health platform is now scheduled to be implemented on February 1, 2022.

If there is no information in the information system about the deceased person’s intention to prohibit or allow the use of his body, tissues and organs after death, the medical institution will be obliged to find out the deceased person’s will from the nearest relative or by contacting the next of kin. The information provided by the next of kin will be recorded in the donor’s medical records. If the information provided by the next of kin is contradictory, the use of the body, tissues and organs of the deceased is prohibited.

If information about a person’s will is not recorded in the information system, as well as it cannot be provided by the next of kin, the deceased person’s consent to allow the use of his or her body, tissues and organs after death is presumed, according to the law.
