President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the two presidents discussed the regional situation and developments in the escalation in the Gaza Strip, and reviewed the ongoing diplomatic movements to contain the situation and prevent the expansion of violence and conflict, which threatens the security and stability of the region.
The two leaders agreed on the importance of giving priority to the process of supporting the truce and restoring security stability, and the priority of ensuring the protection of civilians and preventing their targeting, as well as the seriousness of the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and the necessity of providing safe access to humanitarian and relief aid urgently.
The two presidents also agreed on the need to work seriously to address the causes of the crisis, especially the continued absence of a political horizon for settling the Palestinian issue in a just and lasting manner, and establishing the Palestinian state in accordance with the terms of reference of agreed upon international legitimacy.
