The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the call came within the framework of ongoing consultation between the two presidents regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, where the results of the contacts and international and regional diplomatic movements to contain the situation were reviewed.
President Sisi stressed the need to intensify efforts to establish a ceasefire to protect civilians and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid without obstacles or delays. The French President expressed his country’s appreciation for the Egyptian role on the political and humanitarian tracks, especially at the level of providing, coordinating and delivering aid to the Gaza Strip, as well as receiving injured Palestinians and evacuating foreign nationals, reviewing the relevant French relief efforts.
The two presidents agreed to continue coordination and consultation on developments in the situation in the Middle East, and to work to urge the parties to find ways to resolve the crisis, leading to peace, implementing the two-state solution, and establishing the Palestinian state.
