Preserving Our Collective Memory: Join the Regional Amateur Film Collection Day in Grand Est

If we look carefully, many of us still have films fixed on film: birthdays, family celebrations, summer vacations by the sea, cultural or leisure outings, moments of local political life possibly. You perhaps keep these moments of life somewhere, in the attic or in a cupboard… Today, these images are of interest to two associations: Image’Est (for Lorraine and Champagne Ardenne) and Mira (for Alsace). Together, they launched the network of cinema libraries in the Grand Est and collect these testimonies which are above all “the reflection of an era and tell the story of the evolution of our lifestyles”, they indicate.

So that these images do not fall into oblivion, Image’Est intends to coordinate the collection of these films, to digitize them and promote them “with the aim of constituting, with your collaboration, our collective memory”.

To grow this documentary collection, there is even a regional amateur film collection day throughout the Grand Est and it takes place on Saturday October 14. In northern Moselle, the Le Lierre social center is responsible for receiving the reels. Meet from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the multimedia space located at 5, rue du Four banal in Thionville.
