Presentations of new cars: Red Bull Racing RB16

Like a year ago, Red Bull Racing introduced a new car a week before the winter tests. On February 12, the press service published photos of RB16, and Max Verstappen tested the novelty during a shooting day at Silverstone.

The car’s coloring corresponds to last year’s, which is surprising given the usual Red Bull creativity, but last year the team began winter tests with temporary livery, so even now the Australian Grand Prix may change the coloring.

Christian Horner, team leader: “For the first time in five or six years, the rules have not changed and this stability gives us a real chance to impose a fight on our rivals. Everything that we learned last year in working with RB15 is embodied in the design of RB16.

Our team is also stable – the composition of the pilots and our technical headquarters have not changed. We seriously added in the second half of last season and expect to develop this success.

Another important factor in the fight for the title is the power plant. Honda is a strong and motivated partner. They did a great job last season, each next version of the power plant was more effective and more powerful than the last – we felt that we were catching up with rivals.

We work closely with them, they share our focus on success and the desire to win. Honda wants to build on last year’s success, take the next step — and they are completely focused on it.

I feel that with our riders, the technical headquarters in Milton Keynes, the mechanics who set records for the pit stop time, and the competitiveness of Honda, we are now in better shape than in recent years. Time will tell, but I am fully confident that we will achieve serious success in 2020. “

The composition of the team remained the same – Max Verstappen’s partner in 2020 will be Alexander Elbon, both riders are optimistic about the new season.

Max Verstappen: “The extension of the contract with the team removed all doubts, I have no more questions. Red Bull Racing is exactly the team that I need, I’m comfortable here. There are a lot of good specialists in Red Bull Racing, I see how they are aimed at fighting for victories and the title.

We want to challenge Mercedes, and I believe that we can do it. We’ll see how the winter tests pass, but the main thing is that everyone in the team is determined and incredibly motivated.

Alexander Elbon: “I am preparing for my second season in Formula 1, I already know a lot – I have to study less. Now you need to spend more time fine-tuning.

In winter, I had a lot of time to think – I analyzed my performances and was pleased with the way I worked. In doing so, I managed to identify areas that I am not completely satisfied with. ”
