Livorno, 4 November 2024 – The presentation of the project “The garden of Respect, Care and Kindness” will be held on Wednesday 6 November at 10.30 am, at the Alveare Childhood Centre, steps of Theater 28.
FIDAPA BPW Italy – Livorno section, under the patronage of the Municipality of Livorno, promoted the project “The Garden of Respect, Care and Kindness” in continuation of the national theme of FIDAPA the “new Charter of the Rights of the Child ” adopted by the Municipality of Livorno (and by the Municipalities of Collesalvetti and Rosignano M.mo) in 2018 for the protection of the rights and values of women in compliance with the principle according to which every child must be helped, protected from birth and trained in order to grow in full awareness of his rights and duties against all forms of discrimination. The project involves the delivery by FIDAPA to girls and boys of nursery school, in the presence of their families, of aromatic plants and material for the care of the garden, which will represent “The garden of Respect, Care and kindness”, which will be managed by the sections of the Childhood Center during the year.
The teachers and the pedagogical coordinator of the Childhood Center took the opportunity to link the presentation of the FIDAPA project to family participation activities, an aspect that has always been central for the Education, Youth and Participation sector and in particular for the Integrated System office Infancy 0/6, founded precisely on the centrality of active participation, the relationship of trust and educational continuity between educational services, families and citizens.
The presentation of the project is included within the “Anti-Violence November”: November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, represents an opportunity to intensify awareness-raising initiatives, to create moments of collective reflection and information, increasing the level of awareness on issues related to gender violence, giving voice to those who have experienced violence, providing visibility to all services to support victims and also acting with a view to prevention through the active involvement of citizens .
The Municipality of Livorno organizes the “Anti-violence November” every year, a calendar of initiatives promoted by the Administration in close synergy with all the subjects of the Anti-violence Network and with the Associations that collaborate with the Administration, for the management of the Women’s Centre. Throughout the month, themes and problems of male violence against women will be addressed through professional development seminars, book presentations, meetings, events and exhibitions.
