This morning, June 7, the Report of the year 2021 was presented at the headquarters of Cáritas Teruel. The Bishop of the diocese, José Antonio Satué, the Director of Cáritas de Teruel and Albarracín, Juan Marco Deler, the Delegate of Cáritas, Ignacio Hernández, and the General Secretariat, Loles Esteban.
Mr. Obispo began the speech, emphasizing the task of promoting solidarity by counting and denouncing the situations of injustice in our society that Cáritas does by presenting this report last year, then ceded Juan, director of Cáritas, who was disbursing the data of memory. This report presents data on what was worked on and what happened in receptions, projects, centers and services throughout the year 2021. It’s not just numbers, statistics and profiles, it’s true stories of people who Cáritas Diocesana de Teruel y Albarracín has helped accompanied throughout the past year.
Summarizing some data, 535 families were assisted in orientation and reception, 325 homeless people, 360 people were assisted in the shelter, 232 in the Hogar con Corazón… As regards social intervention, 405 aids were produced in the shop, 113 rent subsidies, 959 subsidies for basic needs… The employment program developed by Cáritas helped 437 people with orientation and job search, 283 people participated in actions for employment, with 11 placement contracts, 14 collaboration agreements with companies and 147 placements. The actions of fair trade, international cooperation and the work of the ADARVE insertion company were also taken into consideration.
After the economic balance, Nacho, episcopal delegate, left his place and presented us the activities of the Week with the heart of Cáritas, highlighting two concerts of solidarity, one in Monreal del Campo next Friday, June 10, at eight in the afternoon. in the patio de las Beltranas, and Thursday 16 June, dinner-concert in Teruel, will be at eight in the afternoon in the patio of the Colegio de San Nicolás with the performance of the Charraire Folk groups and the Traditional Music Group of the School of Music, the donation is 10 euros. June 19 will be the day of charity, Corpus Domini as the culmination of all these acts.
During the question time, the Secretary General, Loles Esteban, also spoke to illustrate the project that is being developed for the accompaniment of the elderly. It is an experience that has already been carried out in Cáritas de Girona, the tests are underway in the residence of the Seminary with a very good reception, this project should start in October.
