Weekly edition of the Turbo Rock program, for this occasion dedicated to the presentation of the latest work by the Madrid band Phoenix Rising, one of the bands that have been giving the most talk within the genre in recent years, halfway between Power Metal European-style symphonic and Rock in its most melodic aspect, called to be and become a great reference within the style (if they are not already), over the years, because they have quality to spare for it, under the title of Acta Est Fabula !!!!! It includes a brutal interview, lasting more than an hour and a half, with Miguel González, vocalist and guitarist of the band, and whom we had present on the other side of the telephone line !!!!!
We are in front of what is already the third work of the formation (fourth if we take into account the first that they published under another name), and that supposes a return in style. The songs were recorded under the baton and attentive gaze of José Garrido and Daniel Sabugal, at New Life Studios in Madrid, and Ermin Hamidovic was in charge of the entire mastering plot at the Australian Systematic Productions studios. The band tells a series of stories within a conceptual environment, and that revolves around a mysterious journey of the one known as “El Caminante”, who, fed up with a catastrophic present, embarks on a trip to the past to try to avoid a very unpromising future . This one is traveling through the eyes of characters in history of different kinds and different times. Highlight the collaboration of Elena Aznar (Time Symmetry), who shares the vocal role, in one of the themes, while the great illustrator Álvaro Jiménez has been in charge of the entire subject of graphic design, in a sublime way !!!!! As a curiosity, it should be mentioned that you can buy a novel, on the band’s website, that accompanies the album and that I suppose explains the concept of the lyrics in some way. This homonymous novel, like the album itself, has been made thanks to a crowdfunding campaign.
And above all you know, let the Metal flow through your veins with the force of thunder…. in the stormaaaaaaa !!!!
