As we learned from Ferenc Boór, the co-chairman of the Fejér Association: János Jakab learned about the process of casting as a child at his father’s workplace, in the Heavy metal foundry. He learned the basics of metal casting in Váci and in the iron foundry of the former grinding machine factory. In his sophomore year, he shaped sculptures and reliefs, and today almost countless works, plaques, small sculptures, and sculptures have been created under his hands. He regularly prepares the commemorative plaque for the Children’s Award for the county’s child protection center. As a master molder, he leads creative camps and holds sessions for both children and adults. In Sárosdon, he founded Handicraft House with a third of himself. In 2020, on the Night of the Museums, the audience of Székesfehérvár was also able to meet the casting master at the Aluminum Industry Museum, where he cast lead soldiers for young and old.
– The Köfém rolling mill foundry celebrated its 80th anniversary last year, on the occasion of which the statue of Balázs Pintér: The Blacksmith – almost 2.5 meters high – was unveiled in Székesfehérvár, in front of the Köfém Education and Community Centre, Ferenc Boór told our newspaper. – The sculpture was inspired by János Jakab, a smelter specialist and employee of Arconic-Köfém Mill Products Hungary Kft. And the statue was born in the workshop of the Székesfehérvár caster Károly Nagy, who also cast the bronze commemorative plaques for the symbolic adopters of the 63 historic counties and cities entitled to the county of Fiume for the restoration of the Fehérvár National Flag and Trianon Memorial in 2018.
