Preliminary information on the presence of Shigella bacteria in two wells in Kozhikode and Mayanad Kottamparambu areas. Following reports of Shigella outbreak in the area, the Corporation Health Department took water from 5 wells and sent it to the Regional Analytical Lab in Malappuram for testing. It will take another 4 days to get the final report. About 400 wells have already been super chlorinated, including sampling.
