Chelsea and Hakim Ziyech kick off their preseason friendlies this Saturday with Peterborough United hosting at Cobham training camp.
The game will take place behind closed doors from 12:00 and will not be broadcast so fans can follow the highlights of this first Blues game. For Thomas Tuchel, it will be the first time that he will see some players of the club returning from loan or coming from the academy.
Like Hakim Ziyech, the Blues Abraham, Odoi, Loftus-Cheek, Rahman, Barkley, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Sarr and Gallagher are hoping for some playing time this weekend. Many will try to find their way into Tuchel’s plans for the next season.
Youngsters Dujon Sterling, Armando Broja, Tino Anjorin, Trevoh Chalobah and Lewis Baker could also feature in what will be a very experimental team from Tuchel.
Ten days later, the Blues will play their first meeting open to the public. It will oppose them to the formation of Bournemouth, five days before their duel against the Gunners of Arsenal.
Chelsea will also face Tottenham Spurs as part of their preparation. This meeting is scheduled for August 4. In total, four friendly matches for the Chelsea Blues before facing Villarréal in a UEFA Super Cup match on August 11.
