Pizza for decades has made a space in the hearts of many around the world, especially New Yorkers and children who are no exception.
With their hands covered in flour and staining everything in their path, and at the same time excited, several five-year-old children carried out the process step by step for almost an hour to make their own pizza for the first time in Tastebuds Kitchen.
“We put water in it, a little bit of flour and then you have to roll it up and then you have to put things in it to be able to bake it,” the boy said to Egypt Revels.
After mixing the flour, with its ingredients, and shaping your pizza, with sauce and cheese included… to later taste a piece of pizza made by your own hands.
The field trip is the culmination of weeks of research in a Success Academy charter preschool student learning unit about the culture and science of bread.
“They have about two or three weeks learning about pizza, how pizza is made, how dough is made,” explained Alondra Gómez, a preschool co-teacher.
They have learned about the different varieties of bread, the different ways of cooking and consuming it in all parts of the world.
“They are making their dough, they are putting their cheese, their dough, and learning everything they saw on paper and on video, now in person,” Gomez added.
Experience that everyone enjoys to the fullest every second.
“They are learning about pizza, something everyone loves and knows about, but right now they come with a lot of knowledge about yeast, dough, and the process. Plus, how we can all enjoy it as a whole.” community,” said Natasha Rajpal, external learning coordinator.
There is nothing like pizza, especially its crust, the children said.
And although pizza was born in Naples, Italy, it was to be expected that these little ones would say that the best pizza in the world is from New York. And without a doubt, it is one of everyone’s favorite delicacies.
