Britain’s historic throne is decorated ahead of King Charles’ coronation ceremony in Britain. The throne has been used by Henry VIII, Charles I and Queen Victoria among others. Made of oak wood, this throne is considered to be the oldest piece of wood used in a historic ceremony. It is believed that the throne was built in the 1300s.

39 rulers are believed to have used the throne. King Edward orders the construction of the throne encrusted with a jewel known as the Stone of Destiny. From 1399 onwards, this magnificent throne was used for coronation ceremonies. Charles III’s coronation will take place on the 6th of May. The coronation took place at Westminster Abbey.
