Preparing the healthcare environment for climate change

More than 220 people participated in the two editions of the Chaudière-Appalaches in Transition Forum: health in the era of climate change. The first was held in Sainte-Marie on September 19 and the second in Montmagny on October 3. The forums aimed to allow people from the municipal, ministerial, health, school and other regional collaborators to discuss the steps to take in order to better prepare for current and future climate events.

“We feel that communities are ready to act to adapt to the changing climate, but that it is not always easy to know where to start. Days of discussion like these help to see things more clearly and lay the foundations for action,” says Josée Breton, general director of CRECA.

The events were organized by the Chaudière-Appalaches Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS), the Chaudière-Appalaches Regional Table of Municipal Elected Officials (TREMCA) and the Chaudière-Appalaches Regional Environmental Council (CRECA) .
