“Preparing for the last battle, lost faith”: the wife of the defender of Mariupol

The mood is pessimistic, because there is almost no hope for salvation.

The defenders of Mariupol, who are blocked by Russian invaders at Azovstal, are preparing for the last battle.

This was announced at a press conference on May 15 by the wife of a soldier of the Azov regiment, Yekaterina.

“They almost never go to the surface, they only go up to find food and water. Most of the time they sit in the bunker. The mood is pessimistic, because there is almost no hope of salvation. They are preparing for the last battle, because they do not believe in a diplomatic solution.” – said the wife of the defender of Mariupol.

At the same time, the women stressed that they believe in the Ukrainian authorities and the international community, who are making every effort to save the military from the Mariupol Azovstal.

The wife of the Ukrainian defender added that it is very difficult to live in such conditions: people are dying, the wounded are suffering, there is little food and water. As for water, they drink one glass of industrial water per day. She said that she spoke with her husband just a few hours ago.

Ekaterina was shocked when she found out that Azovstal began to throw phosphorus bombs. The situation with medicine is critical, but the defenders of Mariupol hold on.
