Cirebon, Beritasatu.com – The Cirebon Regency Government has prepared 60 community health centers (puskesmas) and 12 hospitals to anticipate an outbreak of monkey pox.
Head of the Cirebon District Health Service, Dr. Neneng Hasanah, said that managers of dozens of health services provided had received instructions for quick action when there were reports of cases of the disease.
“We don’t want it to be like the Covid-19 pandemic. “So, before the outbreak struck, we had already taken precautions,” said Neneng in Cirebon Regency, Friday (17/11/2023).
Apart from that, the Health Service together with the Cirebon Regency Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) have distributed circulars regarding monkey pox awareness via social media.
One of the points in this circular includes inviting people to return to a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS).
“Monkey pox is not transmitted like Covid. Only through close contact or through sexual intercourse. Because monkey pox is caused by a virus, the body condition must be good and PHBS improved. “God willing, we won’t be affected,” said Neneng.
Previously it was reported that a resident of Mundu District, Cirebon Regency, West Java tested positive for monkey pox. This report was made known to the Health Service on Friday (10/11/2023).
The initial symptoms in this patient were felt on October 25 2023, namely joint pain, lumps appearing all over the body, and high fever.
As of this Friday (17/11/2023), the patient is still undergoing independent isolation under direct monitoring by a team from the Health Service.
“The patient has a travel history from Bekasi and Subang. “We will continue to trace people who had direct contact,” said Neneng.
