Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Counselor Mostafa Elham, Governor of Luxor, held a meeting with education leaders and directors of educational departments in the governorate. To review the most important procedures and instructions related to preparations for the new academic year 2023/2024
This came in the presence of Mohamed Abdel Qader, Deputy Governor of Luxor, Major General Yousry Salem, Assistant Minister for the Affairs of the General Authority for Educational Buildings, Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Educational Directorates Affairs, and Dr. Sabry Khaled, Director of the Directorate of Education in the governorate.
At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his happiness at visiting Luxor Governorate, appreciating the governorate’s efforts in developing the educational process.
The Minister stressed the importance of receiving students well and celebrating them on the first day of school, stressing the importance of school principals receiving parents on specific dates, to monitor the regularity of their students in school.
The Minister also directed attention to the general and civilized appearance of schools, cleanliness inside and outside schools, and planting trees.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the most important measures taken by the Ministry to alleviate the burden on the Egyptian family and parents, noting that the Ministry has prepared educational and training materials for the curricula for all educational levels, including explanations, questions, tests, and links to educational videos, indicating that these materials will soon be uploaded to the Ministry’s website. The Minister pointed out the need to follow up on schools and their readiness before the start of the new academic year, and to ensure that all types of maintenance are completed, stressing that school principals should not operate schools in which there is any defect, pointing out that a school official is being identified to supervise the school’s regular maintenance and notice any defect in it. To repair it immediately, as well as submit a report on the school’s maintenance status daily
Dr. Reda Hegazy added that STEM schools are a bright spot in the Egyptian education system, noting that the Egyptian state cares about the gifted and creative because they make a difference in the future, noting that there are controls for selecting students from these schools, noting that the top students in the first year of secondary school are from The 20 STEM schools across the Republic, in addition to the School of Excellence in Ain Shams, will be included in the School of Geniuses, with a package of privileges provided to them through the implementation of twinning with a number of schools in various countries of the world, as well as cooperation with Egyptian and international universities and research centers to ensure the provision of distinguished educational and training content for them. And enhance their talents and abilities
The minister indicated that the ministry is in the process of issuing a ministerial decision regarding the school discipline regulation and sending it to the governors to follow up on its implementation, indicating that the approach to the discipline regulation is preventive and remedial rather than punitive.
The Minister also indicated that social workers and psychologists will be trained in positive education, stressing that this approach is consistent with the human building strategy launched by the Egyptian state, and is also part of the Ministry’s educational role.
The Minister stressed that technical education has become an important priority in Egypt, in addition to the technological schools that were established in cooperation with employers, which qualify the student for the labor market and guarantee his employment before graduation.
The Minister stressed the importance of viewing periods, which will greatly help in overcoming the problem of filling the teachers’ deficit by displaying lessons on educational channels presented by the most qualified teachers in the Republic during viewing periods, which will also allow the implementation of a day of sports, cultural, and artistic activity in all schools throughout the Republic.
The Minister also explained that the development of the preparatory stage curricula is close to being completed, indicating the Ministry’s interest in focusing the development of the preparatory stage curricula on achieving the quality of life of students and their families, focusing on major concepts, and contributing to the development of their cognitive structure, adding that after completing the development in the preparatory stage, the transition will take place. To develop secondary school curricula.
The Minister indicated that 22 new signs for deaf and hard-of-hearing students have been placed in the book “Values and Respect for Others,” which is most frequently mentioned in textbooks, and guidance panels for the signs most used for deaf and hard-of-hearing students have been placed in all schools in the Republic.
For his part, Counselor Mustafa Elham, Governor of Luxor, expressed his happiness with Dr. Reda Hegazy’s visit to the governorate and his opening of many educational projects to serve the people of the governorate, praising his efforts and role in developing the education system in Egypt.
The Governor of Luxor confirmed that during the last academic year 2022/2023, 40 schools and 511 classrooms were established, indicating that this had a significant impact in overcoming the problem of classroom density in the governorate.
